We are here to stay, creating a community for anyone wanting to learn more about Judaism, hang out or just shmooze.

We are here to provide Jews living and studying in San Luis with a warm loving Jewish environment. Chabad of SLO and Cal Poly is a place where knowledge is planted and wisdom is grown. Our goal is to help develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Jew.

We provide; Shabbat services and meals; classes;holiday programs,one on one learning, and many other exciting programs.

Meet the Rabbi

Rabbi Chaim Hilel hails from Montreal, Canada. He graduated from the Central Lubavitch Yeshivah in Montreal, where he received his rabbinical ordination. He has been involved in religious outreach throughout the world, including Israel, Morocco, Hawaii and all over California . Before relocating to San Luis Obispo, he served as program cooridinator of the JSN , a project of Merkos L'inyonei Chinuch .  

Miki Hilel, a proud New Yorker, is a Brooklyn girl. she is a graduate of Beth Chana Teachers' Seminary in Safed, Northern Israel, and is a pre-school teacher by trade.

The Hilels moved to San Luis to establish Chabad of SLO. Their combined experience, along with their devotion to bringing the Jewish message to every single Jew, is surely an asset to the community.
